Note-if you blank the egr a fault code will be logged in the engine ecu but it should not bring on an engine light on the dash and will eliminate any egr valve faults. When running for the first time in the morning, some days (not every time) it misfires (the same as a petrol engine when the spark plug misses). You can reduce the problem by being very gentle with the throttle.

Engine oil too low means low pressure, therefore something is restricting it, there is not enough of it or the pump is not making enough pressure. However low oil pressure will not cause engine to stop and this could be a side effect of the engine cutting out. The only thing I can think of why the engine is cutting out is no fuel, obviously.
